Chapter 21: I’ll Tease You When I’m Bored

Mo Zichen had pulled her in by the hair.

“It’s you—” His indescribably hoarse voice was tinged with resentment.

His right hand still had a hold of the ends of her waist-length hair as he hooked his other arm around her little waist and gently pressed her close to his chest.

His deep, pitch-black, icy eyes were sharp as arrows, arrows that were about to pierce her heart.

“What are you doing here? Lunatic!” Although he kept his voice down, it was still frightening. In this narrow space with just the two of them, the reverberations were mighty.

“I came to pass along a message. Grandmother said she would stand by the grand general on the front line regarding Little Cousin’s affair. I think she will turn into a sharp arrow and pierce the throat of anyone who tries to marry Little Sister Yuke off to Eastern Ling.”

In the business world she could scheme all day long, but she didn’t like doing that with emotions. She wanted it to be a fair fight between her and Man Yuke.

“Grandmother is really insightful and courageous. She’s never been afraid of anything.” The corner of Mo Zichen’s lip raised slightly, loathsomely cruel.

Su Biluo was somewhat lost in thought as she reached up and touched his lips. Mo Zichen’s pupils contracted slightly and he looked down, his big Adam’s apple bobbing.

It didn’t escape Su Biluo’s notice. She laughed to herself. Looked like this man was not as cold-blooded as she imagined. No matter how cruel, he still had the same desires and emotions as everyone else.

For one accustomed to the cutthroat world of business, the more challenging something was, the more attractive.

Su Biluo’s clever eyes brimmed with mischief. The corners of her mouth drew up with a trace of playfulness and she sighed. “Hubby, you’re holding me so tight; did that… did that kiss send ripples through your sovereign heart? This position would be good for reviving…”

Her tender voice was honeyed as she stood on tiptoe and wrapped her arms around his neck and tilted her head slightly, and slowly, slowly drew near, her lips slightly parted…

Her seduction, along with Mo Zichen’s frantically hammering heart and heavy breathing made Su Biluo bolder. Her lips were about to touch his when he suddenly let go of her and pushed her away like she had the plague.

Su Biluo staggered a few steps back before she caught herself. She held her stomach and burst out laughing.

She had to admire her own acting. It had looked just like an experienced lover. Who would have guessed that peck in the main hall back there had been her first kiss as well?

But, this husband was indeed amusing. She could tease him later on when she was bored.

In any case, she was no match for him physically, but when it came to stuff like this, Mo Zichen was flustered, clearly out of his element.

Great! Great! She couldn’t always let him throw her down or hit her and get the upper hand.

“Heheheh—” Her boisturous guffaws gave way to meaningful, somewhat mocking chuckles.

Su Biluo really felt a great sense of accomplishment seeing Mo Zichen’s beet-red face that wouldn’t look at her.

“Get! Get out of here!” He was shamed into anger. “From now on you are not allowed to step foot into this study unless this general gives you permission!”

Even so, the more things went on like this the more resolute Su Biluo became in her decision to remain in the general’s estate as the general’s wife.

She had seen every aspect of him on their wedding night. He had teased her. She had thought he was like any other man of ancient times: a lecherous man with a harem full of concubines and maids he played around with.

Instead, in the several months she’d been at the general’s estate in close contact with him, she had discovered that this callous, beautiful man was in fact a rare, decent man.

He led an honest and clean life, completely devoted to the country. He went out early every morning and came back late every night, spending most of his time at the soldier training grounds or in his study, which was full of war manuals and classics. During the day he trained his men; at night he trained his mind. His life turned out to be as plain and simple as could be.

Why was it so different from the rumors of his cruelty and ruthlessness? Perhaps his manner of bloodletting was only realized on the battlefield?

“Yeah right!” She cut the horseplay and resumed the decisive agility of a CEO. “I have something to say.”

“I don’t want to hear it!”

Su Biluo reached into her robe and pulled out the contract they had signed on their wedding night and got straight to the point. “Hubby, let’s scrap this contract.”
