Chapter 31: Woman, You Are Reckless

Just as she was about to be turned into a hedgehog, Su Biluo suddenly felt a strong pull on her waist.

Her dainty figure was carried off by this force, and in the blink of an eye she was spun around three times in the air. She heard the townspeople gasp in shock and she couldn’t keep from smiling.

That familiar icy breath assailed her. That muscular, broad chest, that unsurpassed martial arts, who else could it be?

Wasn’t this the third time now that he had saved her?

Su Biluo couldn’t resist resting her head on Mo Zichen’s chest, her heart suffused with a feeling of absolute safety in his embrace.

After a steady landing, Mo Zichen’s open black robe was still fluttering in the wind. Before their eyes, arrow after arrow fell harmlessly to the ground.

“Woman, you are reckless!” Mo Zichen scolded in a low voice. His icy eyes were burning with anger, smoldering so sexily.

Su Biluo looked up at him, lost in his eyes.

“I…” Normally so glib-tongued, she suddenly lost the ability to explain herself.

A young officer galloped toward them on horseback. He leapt off his horse at the edge of the enclosure and flitted down easily before Mo Zichen. He cupped a hand over his fist and knelt. “Sorry, General, I didn’t know it was your wife. Is she hurt? I accept my punishment!”

Mo Zichen waved him off indifferently. “No need. Mo Yü, you were just doing your duty, what fault is there? This is a restricted area, get these trespassers out of here!”

“Yes, sir!” Mo Yü replied, standing up.

Su Biluo now got a good look at him. Another dashingly handsome man. This Mo Family Army sure was a handsome bunch. The three Mo brothers, plus Mo Di, Mo Yu, and now this Mo Yü, they were all good-looking.

Had every handsome guy in all of Northern Mo been enlisted in the Mo Family Army? No wonder the townspeople were so eager to spend a tael of silver to come here.

Mo Yü was about to run everyone off when Su Biluo stepped in and blocked his way.

“Wait, General. Let me have a word with the grand general.”

Su Biluo pulled Mo Zichen off to the side. His handsome face was clouded, nearly unable to suppress the rage in the bottom of his heart.

She was watching his every mood. She seized his arm and whispered, “Give your lawful wife a little face in front of the townspeople and I’ll let you off, otherwise I’ll…”

“You’ll what?”

“I’ll kiss you!”

She decisively puckered her lips at him. Mo Zichen hurriedly dodged and gritted his teeth, his hateful expression unable to cover the flush of crimson that washed over his handsome face.

“If you’ve got something to say then out with it!”

“This madame has accepted a tael of silver from all these people here and permitted them to come here to quietly tour here for an hour. Look, they’re all so interested in the Mo army. This morning I made 500 taels. If we have another tour this afternoon we can make 1,000 in one day, that’s 30,000 a month. Since it’s for the money, agree to let them visit.”

When she mentioned the money, Su Biluo couldn’t help but dance for joy.

“How dare you!” Mo Zichen’s face was ashen. He exploded, “Su Biluo, are you money hungry? All you see is money. This general allowed you to earn money, but I never allowed you to do so by any means necessary. If you all come in here raising such a ruckus, how can this general train his troops?”

“We won’t, we won’t, we won’t go in, calm down, calm down!” She reached her little hand out and stroked Mo Zichen’s violently heaving chest like she was coaxing a child. “Hubby ah, didn’t you say as long as I could make money for the general’s estate without breaking the law, it was alright?”

“That doesn’t mean you can take people here and cause a disturbance!” Mo Zichen’s upright, righteous noggin was spinning.

Translator’s Note: So as you have noticed, there are two Mo Yus. They are different characters (羽, which means feather, and 鈺, which means treasure), but the same pronunciation, so I have made this new one “Yü” (鈺) to differentiate it.

Ah, this author is not the best with names, is she? Keep in mind too that Mo Zichen (墨, ink) is a different Mo than the emperor, Mo Junyi. The old dowager (Mo Fengzhi) is the same Mo as Mo Junyi (漠, desert). So they are different families. This is going to be important going forward. Whew, maybe I need to make a relationship chart…
